Whole Foods Stops Using Plastic Bags

Tomorrow, April 22, also known as Earth Day, Whole Foods stores around the country will stop using plastic shopping bags forever! This is a wonderful initiative and I applaud them for being the first to take this increasingly important step towards environmental conservation. Of course, recycled paper bags will be available at the check out lines, but it would be best to bring your own. Whole Foods will take 5 cents off your total for each bag brought.

I’ve been without a Whole Foods for 4 years here in Richmond, and I absolutely cannot wait for Short Pump’s new store to open! Not to mention the upcoming Trader Joe’s as well! I finally will have the groceries I want.
