The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I know I have been talking about movies a lot lately, but I keep seeing enticing trailers! This time my eyes were set upon the teaser for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The film stars Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt, and a favorite of mine, Tilda Swinton. The film, directed by David Fincher, is a take on the F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story about a man who’s born at an old age, subsequently growing younger as time goes on. The trailer explains very little, but has an eerie tone that completely captivated me. It’s nice to see Brad Pitt step out of his comfort zone, even if it means his head on the body of a tiny 80 year old man.  And of course, I am sure Blanchett and Swinton play their parts well. The film hits the theater in December and is already gaining recognition as an Oscar contender. In my opinion, the trailer is reminiscent of Pans Labyrinth, which can only mean good things.

  1. i was pleasantly surprised to find out that F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote the short story upon which Benjamin Button (the movie) was based, they mention this in the opening credits
